
Reasonable Suspicion Training

Supervisors work closely with their employees and are often the first to notice significant changes in an employee's behavior due to a substance abuse problem. Reasonable suspicion training for supervisors is a web-based course developed by SureHire to educate supervisors to recognize employee workplace drug and/or alchol use. With access to the internet, supervisors can complete this four hour course anytime!
At the conclusion of the course, supervisors will know more information about:
- The prevalence and cost of drug and/or alcohol use to Canadian employers
- The signs and symptoms of occupational drug and/or alcohol use
- How to appropriately approach suspected employees about a reasonable suspicion drug and/or alchol test
- Avoiding supervisor traps and pitfalls
- How to carefully document a reasonable suspicion incident
As part of the course package, supervisors receive a reference training manual that includes:
- Information about different types of drug classes including marijuana, heroin, cocaine, prescription medications and more
- Reasonable suspicion checklist and documentation forms
- A practice case study
