 Child Custody and Overcoming Addictions

Though our initial focus was industry, at SureHire we soon found our skills, tools, and programs were applicable in the social realm as well. We could offer our services and help in the social field with drug and alcohol screening services to organizations and individuals involved in various social service programs.

This may include, but is not limited to, family lawyers involved in child custody disputes, individuals receiving social assistance and social organizations aiding clients in finding employment.

We recently included hair testing as part of our repertoire of drug screening services.  Hair screening uses a 1.5" (3.8cm) section of hair typically taken from the crown of the head but can be sampled from anywhere on the body.  The hair then undergoes laboratory screening and analysis for drug metabolites which include:

• Opiates (morphine, heroin and prescription painkillers)
• PCP
• Amphetamines (including methamphetamines)
• Cocaine; and
• Marijuana (THC) 

It is minimally invasive and can reliably detect up to 90 days of prior drug use.  Hair drug screening is helpful for:

• Child custody cases where there is suspected drug use
• Suspected maternal drug abuse during pregnancy
• Individuals involved in programs and social assistance requiring proof of drug free status

SureHire can also directly refer to certified substance abuse professionals (SAPAA -- Substance Abuse Program Administrators Association) to help overcome substance addictions.
