Most
random testing programs are used to deter employees from abusing
alcohol and drugs in the workplace. These programs ensure that
all employees have the probability to be chosen and tested during each
random draw. The key issue with random testing is that in a truly
random selection process a high probability exists that some employees
will be selected several times while others may never be selected. This
type of setup does not guarantee that every employee is tested and that
the ones, who have already been randomly chosen, are not chosen every
testing period. SureHire has designed an innovative random
testing protocol that uses the concept of weighting to increase the
number of employees tested in a specific time period.
The
SureHire Weighted Random Program is a program where people who have not
been chosen have a greater weighting to their name. Therefore there is
a greater statistical chance of pulling a person that has not been
chosen as opposed to pulling a name a second time. This type of program
is more effective because a higher percentage of the workforce will be
picked per year, but everyone still has the chance to be picked more
than once.
SureHire
Periodic Random Programs ensure that every employee is tested at least
once within a set time period (6 months, 1 year, etc.). With this
program there is never an individual that will not be tested. The
employee is not removed from the random list after they have been
tested and may be pulled more than once within the year.
SureHire
has created a random generator program to select employees for testing
keeping the selection 100% random. We also ensure that your employee
records are up-to-date and alternates are generated.
SureHire requires the following information to run a Random program:
• When will the random list be pulled, monthly, quarterly, annually?
• What percentage of employees needs to be tested for each random pull?
• What type of testing is being performed, urine Express, urine Lab, oral fluid lab, alcohol?
•
An up to date employee list. This list must be supplied before every
random pull. It is the employer’s responsibility to keep this list
accurate and up to date.
SureHire
random testing is unique to every employer and their drug and alcohol
policy. At SureHire, everything is tailored to the needs of each
company, because one size does not fit all. As well, if an
employer wants to introduce random testing within their company,
employers must ensure that random drug and alcohol testing is a part of
their drug and alcohol policy, before the testing can begin.
